Cape Panwa sits on the south-east corner of the island, a quiet hilly cape where the water stays flat and calm because it faces inward toward Chalong Bay and the offshore islands. You drive ten kilometres below Phuket Town to get here, and the roads climb steeply enough that you feel removed from the bustle. The beaches are close — Ao Yon with its small sheltered cove and beachfront restaurants, Panwa Beach with its evening food stalls, the Phuket Aquarium at the cape's tip. For groceries and proper shopping you drive to Central Festival or Phuket Old Town, where the cafés and galleries are worth the journey. The Sri Panwa cluster sits on the hilltop with Baba Nest and the viewpoint at Khao Khad Views Tower, where you watch the sun set over the whole curve of the bay.
